Location:
The small village of Mezzomonte is approximately 8 kms from Florence (Porta Romana), at the beginning of the Chianti wine region. This renovated farmhouse is set among olive trees and Chianti vineyards. Impruneta, the main shopping centre for the area with an open-air market every Saturday, is 3 km away. The Ugolino golf club is approximately 8 km away, where one can play golf (18 holes), tennis and there is a swimming pool.
Description:
The “Casina” measures approx. 150 square meters and is laid out on two levels. The ground floor consists of:
living room
dining room
kitchen (with non-working fireplace)
double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (tub/shower)
twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom (shower and washing machine). This bathroom is also accessible from the hall.
Thirteen steps lead up to a renovated attic area divided into a single bedroom space and a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom (shower). The attic area is lit only via skylights. The ceilings and doorways are very low, making this area really only appropriate for children.
The living room and kitchen have access to the garden with a courtyard and lawn which divides this house from a nearby villa owned by members of the same family. There are covered parking spaces for two cars inside the enclosed private garden with entry through a non-automatic gate. A car is necessary. It is approximately 15 minutes drive to Florence, 10 minutes to Impruneta, 10 minutes to the autostrada (although going in this direction the road is narrow at one point).
The home is offered unfurnished or partially furnished. There are terracotta floors, coco carpeting in the bedrooms and wood beam ceilings. The house is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine. There are screens on the bedroom windows. The heating is autonomous GPL gas (there is a tank on the property).
Sleeps maximum 7 persons.
Positive aspects:
A peaceful country location close to Florence, with parking and garden.
Negative aspects:
Although independent, the garden is not completely private as the villa next door has windows overlooking this area. The upstairs area and bathroom have very low ceilings. There are neighbours living in a lower level of the house, accessed completely independently.
